Spotted! Gerrett Purcelli and his estranged father, Anthony, at this week's season opener for the L.A. Lakers. The pair were seen quietly entering the game in the middle of the first quarter. They took to Purcelli's normal season seats, and enjoyed the game. The two were seen conversing here and there, but witnesses say they spoke very rarely during the game. Purcelli did not seem to be his same old Lakers fan self that we all know and love. Maybe it was because the last time we saw him with his father he was entering rehab in 2006.
Rumors started flying about Purcelli and his relationship with his father back in 2002 when they were spotted arguing on the set of "Van Wilder". The argument got so intense that a fist fight erupted. No charges were filed, but the two stayed apart for a few months. Again, the two were seen arguing in 2006, right before Purcelli's very public rehab entrance (off and on, a few times). Sources close to the star say that Purcelli Sr. is a "person in Gerrett's life that doesn't exist. He is a ghost. He comes and goes when he needs something. But that's it". The star has been quoted before as saying that his father was never around growing up. Sad news, seeing as how successful both him and his brother, Ben Purcelli have been in the industry. Never the less, the star was spotted leaving at the end of the game, where him and his father shook hands and parted ways.
On the way toward his vehicle, reporters asked Purcelli how he felt about his father. He replied, "Game was great. Go Lakes."

source: Wow, he sure as hell doesn't look very happy to be there. I hope he's not going back to rehab!
